Disable MacOSX Help Always on Top

Date June 4, 2008

I found this really great tip for all you Mac users. I hate how when you open the help, it always remains on top no matter what… never more! Here’s how to fix this:

Start the Terminal from /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app

Then run the following command:

defaults write com.apple.helpviewer NormalWindow -bool true

There you have it!

    Shosho,
lol, that’s alright. It is for the help system on the Mac it was changed in 10.5 and this just makes it better to work with.

    Om BB,
    Amazing what you did really.

    Elaine,
That’s my policy too, even if there is no one around, I’d prefer to google it than to use the system help.

    manutdfanatic,
    I do, I really do.
