So What have I been up to the past month or so?
- Vienna with my wife.
- Dubai Literature Festival
- Reading (quite a bit)
- Learning (programming)
- Living.
I’ll be posting more about all the above with time.
***
I had heard many times that being married is time consuming and that one is not able to see family or friends for months or even a couple of years. I didn’t believe it to be so at the start. I thought, “How hard can it be? Really?”
Only after the marriage did I notice that this “disappearance” is actually a choice (who wouldn’t want to spend ALL the time they have with their spouses after getting hitched?!).
***
I saw a couple of friends earlier last week at a funeral. Turns out, it is the social occasions (good or bad) that gives us a chance to get together even if for a short period of time.

Welcome back o 7amdilla 3assalama.
Only in the beginning because you’re busy settling in but later on you’ll get the hang of living your separate lives while sharing it with each other. It’s actually fun I imagine.

Miss-Informed,
Allah esalmech thanks. Living separate lives, and sharing it.. oh that does sound like a lot of fun. It probably will take some time to fully mature into that I presume.

Someone hates JAVA? Are you kidding me?
JAVA is a language from heaven. I’m guessing you haven’t acquainted yourself with the language enough to realize how elegant and sensible it is. *No wonder you find bananas elegant *..

Nosayba,
I’m attributing my hatred (or shall I say disliking since hatred is such a strong word, and no true geek hates anything computer related..) to my previous Java class at Univ. I’m up for the option of you fixing my feeling to it if you are up to it, otherwise I’ll not even try to like it. And of course, bananas are like a perfect program, light on the system, and powerful, and slick. No, this is not a matrix analogy at all!

Planning to have kids? Believe me you’ll want to spend as much time as you can together. You’ll want to spend time with “the family” after kids. I took all the help I could get!

Tari,
I’m sure it will get that way when the day comes where we have kids running around. Its exciting and frighting at the same time, but I’m about thinking positive.
