Life is a series of choices. Every step is a choice, an option, a decision. We try our best to make these choices based on what we know. What we pick may not be based on what is right and what is wrong, but what we believe in our minds and hearts. Whatever we do decide, we have to compromise. It is always one or the other.

My Brain is Yellow

***Your Brain is Yellow***

Of all the brain types, yours is the most intellectual.
You crave mental stimulation, and your thoughts tend to very complex.
Your thoughts tend to be innovative and cutting edge, though many people don’t understand them.

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about science, architecture, and communication.

What Color Is Your Brain?

I don’t think much about architecture though, Hmm. I wonder. Ok. Now they got me! I am starting to think about architecture, oh they’re good. Very good.

My Little Mishap

First off, note the new poll on the side :) Thank you for your contribution!

Yummy Juices Yes, I have orange and carrot juice on my cloths. I know I shouldn’t have forgotten my bib at home!

You see, today is a special day. My gym routine has gotten an upgraded and my time has been increased on the elliptical machine, the tread mill, and the bicycle. This means I have even less time to eat, less time to shower and even less time to change, since I have to get back to work by 4pm.

I decided to have some lunch at the gym, it was actually very good and quite tasty, however the food arrived late which meant I was definitely going to be arriving late to work. I didn’t care much, I still tried to make it back in time. If you saw a black jeep whizzing by on the first ring road, that was me, I apologize!

I actually made it just in time (4:05), however in the elevator one the customers pointed out that I have juice on my dishdasha. I looked at it, and said, "Ah, 3ad hatha 3a9er bortaqal o jazar, shesheela al7een?" (Oh, This is orange and carrot juice, what’s going to get this out now [for those who don't read arablish]) With a half-disappointed "Oh Well" sort of smile.

I looked up at the guy, he seemed more distressed than I was! Not a smile, not even a, "Everything is OK" look. He actually had a, "OMG We are doomed!" look. I kept smiling and exited the elevator to sign in, and take care of this sucker.

Thank God for the Qutra, a little improvising does wonders. The stain is now covered up, and hidden well under my qutra well. Alrighty then, back to work (or sleep. Those 3 hours I slept are taking a toll on me, looks like I’m going to pass out on my desk).

P.S. I’d also like you to welcome a dear friend of mine, Mrm (http://mirimthemirim.wordpress.com/) who only recently joined the blog-O-sphere.

My take on: Planet In Peril

Planet in Peril Today I finished watching CNN’s two part two hour special, Planet in peril. I haven’t been so moved in a very long time! At first, I was very reluctant to watch it. Everywhere you turn there is a natural disaster. You are always reminded of the sad stories around the world in the news and everywhere around us. I acknowledged it, but I didn’t want to get myself exposed more than I already have been.

What got me to watch this show was that I wanted to see the big picture of what is really going on. What I saw was something far beyond what I had expected, I also discovered a few things I did not know about myself.

The program brought up the issues of global warming, deforestation, over population, and species extinction. Some of the cast went around the world to confront these issues and expose first hand what is happening at the source or the areas most affected by these issues.

Sure it was sad to see some of the effects of these issues in the world. However, what affected me the most was the pollution in China, and how it affected innocent families. We may not like to see and hear repeatedly how we are destroying our own world, but this does not mean that we should turn our back, and close our eyes and ears.

Since we are all a part of this world, we all should play an important role. Whatever it may be, and no matter how little it is, be sure that you can make an impact on the future.

It was an Earthquake in Iran

earthquake_iran Yesterday I posted about the building wobbling (my new word). It turns out it is the aftereffects of a 5.1 magnitude earthquake that hit Iran. It was later reported that it was felt on the coastline in Kuwait. My colleague and I thought it was related to a construction nearby.

Are you a Multitasker?

Multitasker Only recently I posted about the relativity of time and how it makes us all feel very busy. I received quite a few comments about multitasking. In our current environment it is important, rather imperative and crucial that a person learn to do more than one thing at a time. Sometimes you can do one, two, three or more things however to truly reach the maximum potential you’d have to get creative!

Multitasking is usually attributed to people who are talking on the telephone and doing other things at the same time, such as reading, writing, typing, watching TV, or anything else while still being able to maintain a balanced conversation with the other person.

Another common multitasking activity is typing on the computer and talking to someone around you, or watching TV at the same time.

The question here is how can you be a creative multitasker? What do you usually do together at the same time? The idea here is to be creative!

The Building Just Shook

Was it just our building, or did anyone else feel it? Our building is in Sharq. I thought I was getting dizzy or sick because the world was swaying gently. A colleague mentioned that out loud and it turns out the building had actually shook very gently for about 10 seconds.

Update: We’re on the topmost floor, the 7th floor and people on the 3rd floor haven’t felt it. It might be from the construction close to our building, so thank God it isn’t an earthquake.

Update 2: It was actually an earthquake in Iran.

Climbing to the top

Santa going up! (web)2 We did it. Yes, we got to the top, and fell back down cheering and laughing. Last weekend we decided to go climbing and when we got there, we felt a little disappointed. Why? Because most of the climbers were kids, much younger than us. This is when I thought, "It is either now, or never!" Seize the opportunity, we had come here to climb, and we aren’t leaving without climbing!

There we stood, as the cool air brushed our faces, looking up at the peak. There is no obstacle any man cannot tackle! There is no wall that will stand in our way! We shall climb, and climb we shall! — to victory!

It was funny seeing the people in Maki looking over at us, we smiled but we couldn’t wave (sorry, our hands were occupied). I wanted to take a picture, but, that didn’t work either. It was honestly the best fun I have had…

in a VERY long time.

Relativity of Time: Being busy

Pocket Watch A second, was always a second never more or less. So what changed? We have cars that should take us to our destination faster, but because of traffic we usually spend hours on the road.

Has life become so complicated that there are just so many things for one person to do, that it takes up most of their time? In actuality, if we remove all social norms, and normality out of the equation and we look at how we spend our lives, what in truth becomes necessary is only but a tiny fraction of what we do. Everything else is more or less a filler.

A New Look

Here we go. Finally, this is the look I have been dreaming about.

I also updated the blogroll to include currently active blogs. There are blogs which are inactive and I have removed those, and then there are those unstable ones, I only hid them from view but I still have their feed running.
